
This river run is graded class III, and is best suited for individuals who are physically fit and strong swimmers.
The trip departs south of the Sunwapta Falls Resort. This river is aptly named Sunwapta, which means "turbulent waters."
The first half of the trip is the gentle and scenic paddling. The latter portion presents sustained whitewater up to Class III.

If you are considering this trip, you should be aware that each participant must be capable of helping to carry the raft and equipment over rough terrain for approximately 10 minutes at both the start and end of the trip. This means that each member of the crew (adult or youth) will be required to carry approximately 35 lbs.
Liability Waiver: Each participant must sign a liability waiver. Parent or legal guardian must sign for any minor child.
Where: This trip takes place within the boundaries of Jasper National Park.
Level: The International scale for grading rivers ranges from an easy 1 to a very difficult 6. The Sunwapta River is graded 3 overall.
What is provided: We provide national park licensed guides, wet suits, life jackets, paddle jackets, and neoprene booties. Wind pants, touques, or neoprene mitts are available for inclement weather.
